GET TO KNOW
THE ISLAND OF HOT SPRINGS
First inhabitants arrived in 1444 and settled in the town called Povoacão. The current capital of the island, Ponta Delgada, got its status after the earthquake which took place in 1522 and demolished the first capital, Vila Franca do Campo. The biggest island of all 9 in the Azorean Archipelago and the most populous one.
São Miguel is well-known for its hot springs which are warmed up by still active volcanoes. Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo and Furnas are must-see spots of the island, often overcrowded during the summer time. Here you can taste one of the sweetest pineapples in the World (the island developed its own way of growing them, being the only place in the European Union). Over 40 hiking trails are a perfect treat for those who are looking to indulge in the nature and reconnect with Mother Earth. A true paradise in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
After over 10 years of travelling around Europe finally I found my place. Now I am thrilled to share with you my new home and invite you on this paradise journey.
