GRACIOSA.

THE WHITE ISLAND.

GET TO KNOW

A PERFECT PLACE FOR DIVING

The Gracious island of the Azores is also known as the White Island due to its landscape and many "white" names given to different places, such as "Barro Branco" (White Clay), "Serra Branca" (White Mountain), "Pedras Brancas" (White Stones). Here you can also access a fascinating lava cave, "Furna do Enxofre", through a 200-metre long tunnel which crosses the whole crater and a snail-shaped staircase tower heading to its inner part. Stunning!

Graciosa is also a great place for divers - if you are looking for astonishing spots to admire marine life, play the "hide or seek" game around plentiful of lava rocks and grottoes, covered with colourful seaweed and molluscs, Graciosa is a must on your travel list! Don't forget that, at the end of the day, you can also chill in the Hot Springs of Carapacho with waters rich in calcium, sodium, chloride and salts
