FLORES.

CALL ME WATERFALL.

GET TO KNOW

THE WESTERNMOST POINT OF EUROPE

Geologically speaking, Flores (and Corvo) are part of the North American tectonic plate, whereas all the other islands of the Azorean Archipelago are placed on the European plate. They say that, due to the plates movement, in the future those two islands will be closer to America than to Europe… but putting jokes aside, Flores is well-known to abundance of flowers (that's where the island name comes from), especially hydrangeas as well as many endemic species which are part of original island's flora.

It is believed that two dead bodies that looked like Amerindians were found on the island, according to Columbus notes, and that is why he assumed that India was on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. I cannot promise that you will make a similar discovery, however for sure you can experience a multitude of waterfalls which, fuelled by crystal clear water, are spectacular spectacular, never to be forgotten!

SOON YOU WILL FIND HERE LOCAL INSIGHTS AND TIPS TO DISCOVER FLORES ISLAND.

I haven't been there yet but it is about to change! Stay tuned ;)
